Alicia Mazingo

Commercial Sustainability Programs Manager

With EnergyLogic since October 2022

What excites you about working at EnergyLogic?

I’m excited to be part of a growing company full of talented people. Growing up in Hawaii has been a driving force in my sustainability journey and I'm super excited to be furthering initiatives throughout the islands, and beyond, in this role.

What core value resonates with you the most and why?

B – Build a Better Mousetrap resonates strongly with me as an interior designer and sustainability consultant because both roles often require unique solutions to challenges. I like that it doesn’t require you to have the best tools or knowledge or innovation, sometimes it’s best to keep it simple.

What is something people may be surprised to know about you?

I was a division 1 collegiate athlete, running Cross-country and several events in Track & Field. I “ran with the bulls” in Pamplona, hiked the Inca trail in Peru, can do a handstand (maybe a back-handspring with A LOT of stretching), and love to surf!

If you went to college/trade school/etc, what and where did you study?

I received my Bachelor Degree in Anthropology and minor in Interior Architecture at the University of Oregon. During my time in Oregon, I spent a summer living abroad in Oviedo, Spain where I took Spanish classes at the Universidad de Oviedo (can I speak fluently? Not really but I sure had a lot of fun). From Oregon, I went to the New York School of Interior Design where I received a Certificate of Interior Design and then on to the Savannah College of Art and Design where I earned a Master of Fine Art. Lastly, the school of hard knocks has certainly provided the most opportunity to fail, learn, and grow.

Where have you lived?

I am lucky enough to have been born and raised on Maui, where we have settled again for the long term. In between I have lived in Eugene, OR; Oviedo, Spain; New York, NY; Savannah, GA; and Boca Raton, FL.
