What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is educating builders. I really enjoy coming up with creative solutions in the moment, to get a house to pass, and finding ways to prevent the same issues in the future. Nothing feels better than when a troubled builder elevates their standards to a nearly automatic pass.

What passions, talents, or interests do you bring to your position at EL?

I have a drive to improve and perfect anything in front of me and I bring that with enthusiasm.

What core value resonates with you the most and why?

Build a Better Mousetrap is by far my favorite core value. I constantly seek to improve the world around me and having a core value that speaks directly to that drive is very validating.

What is on the top of your current bucket list?

When I was a kid, my favorite channel was the History Channel (this was before it took the "Ice Road Truckers" turn). A common topic was WWI and WWII. Because of this, a tour of major European battle sites is high on my bucket list.

Describe your perfect Saturday...

A perfect Saturday starts off quite lazy. I roll out of bed whenever my body says so, grab a glass of water, a cup of coffee, and read. Typically non-fiction on whatever topic I'm currently obsessing about. Then I move on to political commentary, to get the blood pumping. From there I start cutting veggies and prepping a roast for dinner. By that time it's lunch and dinner prep turns into lunch making. Afterwards I enjoy meeting up with friends at a brewery, sitting outside, drinking good beer, and discussing any topic ranging from the completely ridiculous to the extremely serious. Eventually it is time to part ways, or at least move the party to my house. I have a roast to cook after all. We enjoy the meal, play some games, and the rest fades into the evening.

Where have you lived?

I have lived on the Front Range my whole life. I grew up in pre-gentrified North Denver, I specify because it is unrecognizable now. From there I moved out, and into an apartment just off of the DU campus with two other friends. That went about as well as you would expect... After a year of debauchery, I got my ducks in a row and left for college. I attended CSU - Pueblo, starting off with an attempt at a Chemistry degree and ended with studying Accounting. Pueblo eventually started to feel stale so Jordi and I moved up north to Fort Collins where we currently live.
