“We’ve worked with EnergyLogic for many years for our energy inspection and rating services. A little over a year ago, we decided to make the jump from ENERGY STAR to the Zero Energy Ready Home program and relied heavily on the team at EnergyLogic to help us do so.

While EnergyLogic’s expertise on the RESNET program was critical in helping us make good value-based decisions on how to improve our energy efficiency to meet the program requirements, it was really their guidance on how to comply with the Indoor airPLUS that stood out. Unfortunately, many of our product suppliers are not yet well-versed in the different certifications that their products need in order to meet the IAP specification, so initially, it was difficult to get good information back on whether the items we’re currently using might already comply or what a suitable alternative might be. We ran into this issue with our engineered wood and flooring product suppliers especially. However, the team we work with at EnergyLogic had the experience with the program to help us work through not only which certifications we should be looking for but provided us some suggestions for specific products they’ve seen comply, which was helpful.

In addition, we were able to leverage the relationships that EnergyLogic has built with the EPA to work through some issues with our structural floor design and compliance with the Radon Zone 1 requirements. While our structural floor does not conform to the off-the-shelf designs provided by the EPA, EnergyLogic facilitated the discussion with the EPA where we could present our design and make the case for why it met the intent of the program. After some back-and-forth and a couple of small tweaks to our design, we were able to get special approval for that floor system and move forward.

Overall, EnergyLogic has been an excellent partner to us as we’ve continued to push ourselves as a company to build healthier, more innovative homes.
