We started out as a few passionate people working above a garage. Now, we are a team of over 60 people, relentlessly pursuing a future where every homes is efficient, healthy, & resilient.

  • EnergyLogic logo Stacked

    Steve Byers, Wynne Maggi, & Robby Schwarz Create EnergyLogic

    EnergyLogic was created in 2006 when two energy services companies realized they could achieve more by working together than they could by competing.  Today, all three owners remain involved in the day-to-day operations and visioning for EnergyLogic. Wynne is EnergyLogic’s President & Chief Culture Officer, Robby Schwarz is the Director of Builder Relations, and Steve Byers is the CEO.

     

    In 2006, the founders were joined by Scott Doyle, Charles Stevens, Mark Jabaley, Jennifer Miller, Scott Peters, Andrew McGovern, Todd Snizek, Kathleen Henning*, John Montemayor, Byron Burns, Carissa Sawyer, Mark Eldredge, Fallon Shields, and Sean Enright.

    Steve Byers Elected to RESNET® Board of Directors

    EnergyLogic’s dedication to bettering our industry goes back to our roots.  Steve Byers was elected to the RESNET Board of Directors for the first time in 2006.  Steve served 10 consecutive terms on the board, remaining on the board until 2017.

  • RESNET Industry Innovation Award 2008 EnergyLogic

    RESNET®Industry Innovation Award

    As a young rating company, we found ourselves overwhelmed by the wealth of data that accompanies energy ratings, not to mention all of the tracking needed to manage scheduling, billing, and other logistics.  We looked around for an industry specific tool, but nothing existed. So, we created DASHSM (then known as iRate).  Over 10 years later, DASH is still a continually evolving, essential part of our operations.  Today, over 20 rating companies trust DASH to run their rating business.

  • We Reach 20 Employees

    In 2009, we reached 20 employees.  Leading up to that, in 2008 we welcomed Mike Rodriguez, Jacob Major, Paul Gelatt*, Marnie Doyle, Craig Godbout, Meredeth Neitenbach*, Peter Stelling, John Decker, Tracy Larson*, Linda Bilsens, and Dianna Heustis.  In 2009, we welcomed Larry Applehans, Kim Jaspal, Phillip Drotar*, John Fassler, Laurie Hindman*, and Barbara Ver Steeg*.

  • EnergyLogic 309 Office Opens

    Headquarters Office Opens in Berthoud

    In 2009, we opened our 309 Mountain Avenue office in Berthoud.  With time, it became our headquarter office and eventually expanded into the neighboring office space at 311 Mountain.  Today, the office is a hub of activity with roughly 30 people, and an additional three or four dogs, working together on any given day.

    From the ENERGY STAR website: ENERGY STAR Award Winners lead their industries in the production and sale of energy-efficient products and services, and in the development and adoption of strategies that provide substantial savings in the buildings where we work, and in our homes. All these efforts contribute to reduced emissions and a create a healthy environment.  Winners are selected from a network of thousands of ENERGY STAR partners.

    This was our first ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award, so it holds a very special place in our archive!

    The BizWest Mercury 100 list honors Northern Colorado’s fastest-growing private companies.  In 2009, we ranked 4th!

  • 2009 Rater Olympics competitors

    First Annual RaterFest!

    We wanted a conference where we could grow as energy professionals, minus the conference staples like drab conference rooms and expensive rates.  So, in 2009 we created RaterFest!  Now over 10 years strong, RaterFest! is our annual conference for energy professionals offering fresh mountain air, gorgeous venues, unlimited craft beer, top of the line speakers, CEUs, and all-inclusive registration. The most memorable part of the original RaterFest?  It’s a tie between the fire dancers and the bouncy house obstacle course.  Learn more here.

    In 2010, our team gained Janet Howard*, Will Lorey*, Matt Thornberry, Michelle Meyers, Justin Heldnbrand, Glenn Pease*, Steve Eagleburger*, Darren Legge, Adam Jonash, Deborah Hand, Rosann Parrinello, and Chris Chitester.

  • Mayor Hickenlooper visiting EnergyLogic

    Mayor John Hickenlooper Visits EnergyLogic

    Mayor John Hickenlooper visited EnergyLogic to learn about our work and recognize our contributions to Colorado, both as a quickly growing start-up and as advocates for a more energy efficient Colorado. Hickenlooper went on to become Colorado’s governor in 2011.

  • Environmental Stewardship Award from Larimer County

    In 2010, we received an Environmental Stewardship Award from Larimer County for our sustained efforts to promote energy efficient new homes. Most notably, by 2010 we were already working with over 100 home builders and had trained more than 400 energy raters and auditors. Read more about our award here.

  • We Reach 40 Employees

    In 2011, we welcomed Kim Vittetoe*, Nathan Pepper, Sarah Holloway, Eva Schrijver, Keith Griess, Bradley Smith, and Roman Brohl.

    Companies to Watch is a national award program that is run statewide, recognizing companies that are growing at sustainable rates and benefiting their community. Each year, hundreds of companies apply and only fifty are selected.  In 2011, we were honored to be a Colorado Company to Watch!

  • Finalist in the 2011 Bill Daniels Ethics in Business Award

    The 2011 Bill Daniels Ethics in Business Award is presented by the Colorado Ethics in Business Alliance and goes to the for-profit enterprise that achieves unwavering adherence to ethical business practice and commitment to the community. EnergyLogic was one of six finalists for this award in 2011.

    In 2012, EnergyLogic made its first appearance on the highly competitive Inc. 5000 list, ranking at spot #2625.  A huge accomplishment no matter what, we were exceptionally proud that we earned this reward by staying financially secure during the housing market crisis.     Founded EnergyPro Exchange (EPX)

    We believe that greatness inspires greatness.  So, in 2013 we carefully collected 12 likeminded companies and invited them to join our new collaborative – EPX.  Since our launch in January 2014, we’ve been amazed by the strength we’ve found in collaboration.  We study business acumen together, collaborate to solve industry challenges, and partner with local and national builders.

  • Great Place to Work Designee

    In 2014, all of our employees completed the Great Places to Work assessment survey.  Based upon their candid responses, we were named a Great Place to Work designee!

  • The EnergyLogic 311 Renovation Photo

    311 Mountain Avenue Office Opens

    In 2014, we needed more space.  The hair salon beneath our office closed and we took the opportunity to expand.  During the renovation, we removed all of the feather boas, uncovered the beautiful tin ceiling, added a mural, and completely repainted.

    Colorado State Environmental Leadership Program Bronze Winner

    The Colorado State Environmental Leadership program recognizes companies that go above and beyond compliance with state and federal regulations, and who are committed to continual environmental improvement.  We received the bronze award in 2015.

  • Terrapass Logo

    Terrapass Partnership Begins

    We are always looking for better ways to understand and manage our corporate business responsibilities. We want to be sure that our work to promote efficient, healthy, and resilient homes is done in the most responsible way possible.

     

    In 2015, we began partnering with Terrapass to offset our buildings, utilities, auto fleet, air travel, shipping, and commuting emissions. Through Terrapass, we offset 26.200mT of carbon, every month!

  • EnergyLogic 10 year anniversary

    EnergyLogic Celebrates 10th Anniversary

    To celebrate our 10-year anniversary, we had an extra special holiday party at the Governor’s Residence, Boettcher Mansion. It was a night to remember, complete with bow ties, tiaras, and custom cocktails.

  • We Reach 50 Employees

    In 2012, we welcomed Mark Lane*, Barbara McMonigal, Parker Lahti, Joshua Taylor, Benjamin Graham, Tom Flanagan*, and Tracy Briggs.     Core Values Launch – ABCDE!

    In the words of one of our founders, Wynne Maggi, we already had core values, we lived them; it was just a matter of saying what they are.  Since our core value launch in February 2016, our core values have become part of our daily communication.  For each core value coin we give each other, EnergyLogic donates $5 to charity.

    New Denver Office at Tradecraft Industries

    When we outgrew our Denver office, we wanted to move into a space of like-minded peers.  Tradecraft, a co-working space for construction professionals, was the perfect fit!  Our new office at Tradecraft gave us room for our monthly rater meetings.  Best of all, it’s dog-friendly, just like the Berthoud office!

    We Win Top Workplace

    The Denver Post accepts “Top Workplace” nominations from companies all over the state of Colorado. After the nomination is accepted, the Denver Post partners with Energage to survey each employee at the nominated company. The companies with survey results that indicate the healthiest work environments win. In 2018, we applied for the first time and were one of the winners! We love our culture and think it’s great. It’s great to have outside analysis that shows the same thing!
