Mark Lane
Senior Rating Administrator
With EnergyLogic since January 2013
What passions, talents, or interests do you bring to your position at EnergyLogic?
I have had an interest in energy efficiency of residential and commercial buildings which is why I pursued the energy rater profession after moving to Colorado in 2009.
What is your favorite thing about your job?
The company. They really care about the well being of the employees. The company also evolves; they constantly strive to improve processes and services to clients.
What is your favorite core value?
The core value of "A - All for One" resonates with me the most because that ultimately is what makes for a successful company as well as a successful society.
How would you describe your role?
I provide administrative oversight of the work of the Rater Field Inspectors by reviewing their data inputs into the rating software. It is a quasi-quality control position for those who do not yet have the experience of a certified home energy rater.
What made you want to work at EnergyLogic?
I took the rater training through EnergyLogic. I was impressed with the organization of the training and the knowledge base of the employees.
What's something people may be surprised to learn about you?
As someone who has enjoyed backcountry skiing, the biggest concern/danger is always avalanches. I, and everyone else in my group, was fortunate to survive after being caught in an avalanche while attempting to ski up and over the crest of the Sierras in California in 2005.
What did you study?
Purdue University - B.S. Natural Resources and Environmental Science
University of Idaho - B.S. Geological Engineering
What is on the top of your current bucket list?
I think it would be cool to scuba dive in open water and encounter a school of hammerhead sharks.
