Rebuilding on Maui

When tragedy struck last year in Lahaina, our joint Colorado and Hawaii team knew immediately how difficult the road ahead would be. While far from identical, there were definitely elements in common between the Marshall Fire near Boulder and the Lahaina fire. In each case, our team members knew people who lost their homes. For those unfamiliar with the Marshall Fire, on December 30, 2021, a grass fire near Boulder spiraled out of control and ultimately destroyed 1,084 buildings. The nature of the fire, the terrain and the emergency alerts allowed all but two people to escape the area.  

The Marshall Fire rebuild has been underway for some time now. The necessary steps to make that happen were far less daunting than what has had to happen in Lahaina. Our Colorado based teams have been heavily involved from the beginning in the thinking about and execution of many of the homes being rebuilt in the communities affected by the Marshall Fire.
