From RFI to Rater: How We Grow Experts at EnergyLogic

Empowering our field team to deliver top-tier service and expertise

Growing Experts Is More Than a Motto—It's a Mission
At EnergyLogic, “We grow experts” isn’t just a catchphrase—it’s how we operate. As an energy rating company, we know that delivering high-quality service starts with having a highly trained field team. Building science and code compliance are constantly evolving, and staying ahead of the curve is essential. That’s why we invest in the professional development of every team member who joins us.
The Path from RFI to Certified Energy Rater
When we hire a new Rating Field Inspector (RFI), we set a clear goal: become a certified Energy Rater within one year. This is not a requirement from RESNET (our governing body) or from local jurisdictions—but we do it anyway, because we believe it’s the right thing to do for our clients and our team.
Real-Time Answers. Certified Results.
Other companies may not offer this growth path due to time, cost, or other constraints. But we see it as a critical investment. Certified Energy Raters are far more equipped to manage the complexities of energy code and program compliance, and they can provide answers and insights in real time on site.
Training, Testing, and Mentorship
Becoming a certified Energy Rater isn’t easy—and that’s exactly why it’s valuable. The process includes additional training sessions, a rigorous national exam, and a series of mentored ratings. We don’t allow anyone to produce code or program certificates until they’ve proven—beyond a doubt—that they’re ready. Quality and expertise are non-negotiable.
2024: A Year of Growth
In 2024, we brought many new RFIs onto our team, and most of them have already reached Rater status. By the end of this summer, we expect to have the entire field team certified. This kind of progress doesn’t happen by accident—it’s the result of a deliberate, team-wide commitment to excellence.
Why It Matters
A more skilled team means better service, faster and more accurate documentation, and the ability to navigate complex field challenges effectively. Most importantly, it means we’re helping you build better, more efficient buildings—because we believe that’s what you deserve.
